CHIN STATE – The Chin National Front (CNF/CNA) and the Chin Regional Defense Force (CDF) are on the offensive to seize Thantlang City. Today, Chin news sources said they have been able to attack and capture the CB Bank building in Thantlang where the junta council was stationed.
After the junta council’s hill, where the 269th Infantry Battalion’s base in Thantlang was captured by the Chin Government coalition forces of the Chin land council in the beginning of August, the forces of the terrorist army stationed temporarily in the Lai Villa guest house, NLD party’s office, office of the General Administration, and CB bank. In the middle of September, the coalition forces captured the Lai Villa temporary camp, and this afternoon, the temporary camp in CB Bank was captured again.
“It’s 2 p.m. today, there, I received good news that the Chin government army had captured the camp stationed at CB Bank. I don’t know exactly how many casualties and how much the weapons could be seized. The buildings near the NLD office and the general office will remain to capture,” Chin’s source said.
He also said that now that this junta council camp has been captured again, it has come close to the complete capture of Thantlang city.
“It may be because of the fighting this morning, the aircraft dropped about 20 packages to Hakha’s strategic hill between 10:00 a.m. and 1:50 a.m., this morning. I don’t know if they were ammunition. This morning,” a Chin source said.
CNF/CNA spokesperson Salai Htetni is still trying to contact with the situation of the Thantlang battle.
