SAGAING DIVISION – Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) reportedly recaptured Pinlebu Town for the second time.
On the early morning of October 8, the KIA and allied PDFs attacked and completely acquired Pinlebu Town in the northern part of Sagaing Division. The KIA source said that the area was being cleared and the details of the situation were not yet known.
“Pinlebu Town has been sold out for the second time. The casualties of terrorist junta forces and the details of weapons seized was under confirmation, “said KIA source.
KIA and allied PDFs captured Pinlebu Town for the first time in November 2023. But they had retreated from the town a few days later, due to the severe offensives of the junta army.
The second battle to seize Pinlebu Town started on August 15, and after nearly two months, they were able to capture the entire Pinlebu Town.
The terrorist junta army sent a large number of reinforcements from North Western Command and Wuntho Township, in order Pinlebu Town was not captured by the Revolutionary Forces. The junta army resisted from Pinlebu police station as a last defense. Although the junta army defended with a lot of airstrikes support, the junta was unable to resist the strategic offensives of the KIA and allied PDFs. At last, the junta’s last defense station, Pinlebu police station, was seized and the entire Pinlebu Town was controlled by the Revolutionary Forces.
