BAGO DIVISION – The military council soldiers inspecting at the exit of Letpadan Town reportedly abducted three young men working on public bus at about 12 noon on October 11.
After checking the Identification Cards, junta soldiers claimed that the youths were of age to serve in the military and captured. When the parents of the youths inquired about the release of their sons, the junta army demanded 7 million kyats each to substitute with others and release.
“The 3 youths who were taken have been working on the bus as helpers. The junta army told their parents that they can release the youths if 7 million kyats were given,” said a friend of the abducted youths.
In addition, the junta council appointed ward administrators Win Kyi and his associates from Tharrawaw group threaten and force to give each household for at least 5,000 kyats to tens of thousands of kyats every month, claiming to support military personnel.
Similarly, not only there are abducting of young men for military service in Lepantan Town, older men are also forced to join the public security group. At present, some elderly men have been taken by the terrorist junta army to attend military training.
