MYANMAR – Win Zaw, the junta-appointed administration officer for five villages in Tharyarwaddy Township, Bago Division has been admitted to Yangon General Hospital for emergency treatment after getting shot on his way to Thonesel, reported an official from Tharyarwaddy Galon Force.
Around 7:15 a.m. on October 14, Win Zaw, a resident of Sipin Village in Tharyarwaddy Township was driving to Thonesel Town when members of Tharyarwaddy Galon Force attacked him on the Panswel road section of the Thonesel-Taungnyo Road.
During the attack, Win Zaw was heavily wounded and sent to Yangon General Hospital. Moreover, Bo Soe, one of his lackey that finished Pyu Saw Htee training, who was also on the car was also said to be shot in the abdomen.
Win Zaw was appointed by the junta council as the administration officer for the villages of Sipin, Letpantone, Chanthargone, Chigyikwin and Gyogone as well as a Pyu Saw Htee leader. He gathered multiple Pyithusit militants and also took part in the Letpandan-Yayngan battle together with his followers on the side of the junta forces. He also looted and made profits from the sales of furniture and farming equipment left by residents fleeing from the conflicts.
In addition, he also stole the combine harvesters from the villages of displaced people and stored them inside a warehouse at the entrance of Thonesel that belongs to Myo Gyi, a junta crony.
The attack against him was carried out by Tharyarwaddy Galon Force who vowed to continue attacks on junta pillars. Win Zaw was previously attacked by Tharyarwaddy Galon Force on August 5, 2022 but only received minor injuries.
