MANDALAY DIVISION – Residents said that TNLA handles gems-related complaints in Mogok.
The case regarding the mines in Peinpyit Village that are paying taxes to the tax department under the town administration council, where the owners of the mines submitted complaints on October 13 that there were those conducting mining without permission, was handled on October 17.
“Our mine is not restricted. We have paid taxes to the gems supervision committee. We also have a license. Despite that, people came and mined there after TNLA captured the town). After we submitted the complaint, they took fast action,” said a mine owner.
It is said that Major Tar Ahfha, the deputy chief of the TNLA Tax Department, interrogated the two people from Peinpyit Village who carried out the illegal mining and warned them.
In addition, the major also encouraged the people to not accept any dictator and make reports without being afraid as the aim of the current revolution is to eradicate dictatorship, and stated that all reported cases will be handled without bias.
“They are quick to take action when it comes to gems. We have made reports about KTVs and the blockade of roads for a long time, but there has been no progress. They do take action on Starlink though,” said a resident from western Mogok.
Major Tar Ahfha also said that although there were frequent frictions between the town administration committee and the residents, TNLA is taking action swiftly on most cases and will strive to be an organisation that serves the people.
Mogok was jointly captured by Mandalay Strategy and Mandalay PDF, under the command of TNLA, on July 24 and the military situation has currently calmed down.
