MYANMAR: Kachin Independence Army (KIA) totally captured Pangwar, a town at the border of Myanmar and China at the night of October 18. So, there are (85) towns which have been occupied by the revolutionary forces in “Spring Revolution.” Though the China is politically pressuring KIA, KIA is continuously performing military operations to occupy the towns such as Chipwi, Tsawlaw and Pangwar, the junta’s military camps and the camps of Border Guard Forces. Currently, there have been at least 12 towns which were occupied by KIA in Kachin state since the military coup. Mabein in northern Shan state was also occupied by the revolutionary forces led by KIA.
Moreover, there can be other towns which were occupied by the revolutionary forces but the information is not released yet so they can be left out in the infographic data collected by “People’s Spring.” Recently, the rest of the military junta’s camps in Maungdaw, Ann and Gwa townships which are being attacked by Arakan Army (AA), Tigyaing and Indaw are being attacked by People’s Defense Forces and Hpapun is being attacked by Karen National Union- KNU and PDF.
