MYANMAR – The revolutionary news source at Southern military region said that during the battles in September, 147 terrorist soldiers were killed, and 8 prisoner of war were being captured in the Southern military region under National Unity government (NUG).
From September 1 to 30, there were 66 clashes, including the capturing of three coup council’s military base. 4 attacks towards the junta lackeys working for the terrorist army, 24 drone attacks on terrorist army camps and military columns, heavy weapon and land mines attacks, and guerrilla attacks using snipers were carried out.
During these operations, 147 junta soldiers were killed, 96 were injured, and 8 were captured alive as prisoners of war. It is known that the prisoners of war are well controlled in accordance with the Prisoner of War Law.
A truckload of food supplies, heavy weapons and small arms, and ammunition, more than 400 bags of rice, 100 pieces of RPG-7 bullet, 52 pieces of 60mm bullets, Hand grenades and landmines were seized from terrorist junta army, and the People’s Defence Forces also suffered some minor damage.
During the battles in September, 17 comrades of People’s Defence Force and its allies bravely sacrificed their lives for the country, and 48 others were injured.
The battalions of People’s Defence Force (PDF), People’s Defence Organization (PDO) Local Defence Force (LDF), All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), New Mon State (AD) and joint forces, Karen National Union – KNU (KNLA, KNDO) and drone joint forces cooperated and attacked in balance.
Since the terrorist junta army has been shelling grenades into the civilians’ villages using drone, firing heavy weapons recklessly, operating airstrikes, and abducting and killing civilians for no reason, without having any battle, 12 people were killed, 42 were injured and 293 were unjustly taken in September.
At present, the coup military council is advancing, and the revolutionary forces are attacking vigorously as a counterattack. The Southern Military Region informs that the casualties of junta council soldiers may be higher than the current information due to the omission of uncertain information based on the ground conditions.
