MANDALAY DIVISION-Locals reported that three junta policemen having tea at a tea shop in front of Maldawgyi Pagoda were shot and killed, last Wednesday (October 16) morning.
It is reported that there had been a shoot-out, three policemen were killed, the junta troops fired back arbitrarily and there were some civilian casualties even though the details are not known yet.
“There was shocking news in Mingon since early morning. Three junta dogs (policemen) were shot and killed. When they died, the tea shop was set on fire and the locals were reportedly shot by junta troops. The funeral cars and military dog cars are driving at full speed,” a resident told the news agency.
According to the junta announcement, Deputy Police Superintendent Thet Naing Htay had a bullet wound on his right chest, Deputy Superintendent Ye Win Tun had a bullet penetrating through his right face and Deputy Police Sergeant Zaw Min Naing suffered a bullet wound on his head and thigh respectively and passed away. Corporal Maung San is reportedly in critical condition with a bullet wound on his right chest.
The military is conducting inspections at security gates in Sagaing-Minkon Road, beating and arresting people.
