SAGAING DIVISION – The Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament announced on October 25 that the Interim Constitution (draft) of the Sagaing Federal Unit will be delivered to the union-level organisations, regional revolutionary forces and political forces as well as other remaining organizations within the region for cooperation as per the parliamentary procedures.
The Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament discussed with the MPs elected in 2020, CDM government employees, ethnic forces, respectable individuals, strike forces, and political parties that believe in the federal democracy system and held a special assembly on February 1, 2024 to successfully form and delegate the commission to write up the interim constitution (draft) for the Sagaing Federal Unit.
Thanks to the united efforts of the 57 members of the commission from various organizations, the draft Interim
Constitution for the Sagaing Federal Unit was submitted to the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament on October 25, in accordance with article 13 of the Preparations for Interim Constitution.
The Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament, on behalf of the people of Sagaing, honoured the efforts of the 57 members of the commission.
The Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament stated that before continuing with the procedures of the parliament, it will send the draft Interim Constitution to the union-level organisations, regional revolutionary forces, and political forces as well as other remaining organisations within the region, to receive suggestions and proceed as necessary.
