MAGWAY DIVISION – Locals reported that tens of thousands of civilians from more than 30 villages have to flee for safety since the battle have been intensifying at Chauk Township and atrocious junta army is advancing the region with tanks, torching and conducting airstrikes.
Clash occurred between the revolutionary forces against the terrorist army which was advancing into Chauk Township since October 25, and the junta army faced many casualties. After the clash, the fascist army raided the region with more than 600 soldiers and tanks, including the air force.
The mentioned junta column included junta council’s battalion 13 from Chauk Township and the junta thugs from Magway air force, and armed militias Pyu Saw Htee from Kangyikone Village guided the route. The fascist column reportedly torched Naywetaw Village and rampaged and stole the civilians properties from nearby villages.
“Fighting broke out when the junta thugs raid the area. The junta army shelled bombs using military planes when they were being defeated on ground battle. About 4 to 5 houses were hit. After their planes left, the fascist army came back again on October 26 in tanks. The clash was on October 25. The junta air force helped the ground force on that day. Today (October 27), they burned and destroyed Naywetaw Village. The junta thugs rampaged the surrounding villages, looted the valuables and torched the place. Now, not only Naywetaw, the nearby 30 villages are also fleeing, including the pregnant women, the elderly, and children. Those fascist troops even fired towards the displaced civilians. It is not yet possible to confirm whether any civilian was also caught in fire. We are not able to go and see the place, “said a local resident.
