MAGWAY DIVISION – The funeral ceremony for a PDF soldier who fell in a battle between Salin and Sinphyukyun Towns was held in the territory of Daungsitaung Local PDF.
17 year old Jote Gyi (aka) Khant Sithu Lwin from Daungsitaung Local PDF fell in the October 27 battle between the junta council and the PDF that took place between Salin and Sinphyukyun.
“There were exchanges of fire since October 26 evening. We were defending against the junta council’s invasion into our territory. On October 27 morning, the enemy side fired 60mm and 120mm shells. We also fired back with 60mm shells. Around 2 p.m. in the afternoon, our comrade was hit by artillery shrapnel fired by the junta forces and fell,” explained the official in charge of Daungsitaung Local PDF.
The funeral ceremony of Comrade Jote Gyi (aka) Khant Sithu Lwin, held on October 27 evening, was attended by more than 100 allied troops as well as local civilians and the final roll call was observed.
Comrade Jote Gyi (aka) Khant Sithu Lwin is said to be the first member of Daungsitaung Local PDF to fall.
