KARENNI STATE – The Kayan National Army was formed on October 29th with the 8th Battalions, the Progressive Karenni Force (PKPF) announced.
The Kayan National Army has been formed as a committee with individuals who are leading the revolution in the Kayan region.
It is said that the KNA is to reunite and fight against the military council army with the Kayan armed forces which are scattered in the Loikaw region. Demoso region, Moebye region, Phekkon region, and the Kayan region.
The KNA will recognize the National Unity Government as a federal government and fight together with other revolutionary armed forces to destroy the military dictatorship.
It has national aims such as uniting all Kayan nationalities, equality in self-determination and creation, prevention and destroying narcotic drugs, implementation of multi-party democracy, and the construction of a federal democratic union based on the state/ethnicity.
The basic principles of the KNA are to build up the Kayan National Army, unify the Kayan armed forces, Protect oppressed people, Fight against military dictators and all tyrants, build military alliances, Fight against bigotry, counter narrow nationalism, develop of democratic system, and emerge as a true federal democratic union.
It is still trying to contact relevant officials regarding the establishment of the Kayan National Army.
