RAKHINE STATE – The junta council was said to have launched violent airstrikes on the residential wards in Ann of Rakhine State on October 29, resulting in the deaths of ten civilians and more than ten were wounded.
A local civilian said that the junta council’s air assaults on No. 4 Ward and Airport Ward in Ann on the evening and afternoon of October 29 had resulted in civilian casualties.
A local civilian said, “The air assault in the afternoon had killed three people on the spot and injured about 20 people. Four more people died due to the lack of medical treatment. The assault in the evening around 6 p.m. killed a woman and a man. The junta council kept launching airstrikes in the afternoon on October 30 so we need to hide in bomb shelters.”
The wounded civilians are being treated at the hospital in Ann but the medical treatment is not sufficient, as said by some local people.
The battle to capture Ann is still intense and the battles between the Arakan Army (AA) and the junta council are breaking out near the compound of the junta council’s Western Command.
It was known that AA has blocked all the exits from Ann and the Ann – Padan road connecting Ann to Minbu in Magway Division is also completely controlled by AA.
It was locally reported that not only the Ann – Padan road, but also other exits from Ann such as Ann – Ma-Ei road, Ann – Tatttaung road and Ann – Sittwe road are also controlled by AA and the battles are also breaking out on those three roads in Rakhine State.
AA has announced that the junta council, facing defeats, becomes a sore loser and targets the innocent civilians by airstrike, continuously committing war crimes against humanity.
