MON STATE – A battle broke out between the revolutionary forces led by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the junta council forces in Kyaikhto Township and four junta forces were killed, reported Comrade Kane, the information officer of Yangon Division People’s Defence Force (PDF) 1.
Around 1:00 p.m. on November 2, 200 junta forces that advanced into KNU controlled territory in Kyaikhto Township were attacked by Yangon Division PDF 1, regional defence forces and revolutionary forces led by KNLA, leading to two battles that lasted for over an hour. During the battle, the two sides exchanged fire with heavy and light weapons and the Drone Team of Yangon Division PDF 1 is also reported to have dropped bombs using drones.
The attack by the revolutionary forces reportedly killed four junta forces and heavily injured eight and the dead and injured were picked up in Faw trucks by the junta council. The battle situation remains tense.
“Because our strength in terms of weapons and ammunition was weaker, we could only attack them for a limited time,” explained Comrade Kane.
It is also reported that the junta heavy artillery shells fired during the battle landed in a nearby village and damaged a house and a common hall of the monastery.
