MYANMAR – A total of 49 junta forces including four captains and two police lieutenants surrendered to the National Unity Government (NUG) during September and October.
There were also those who brought along their weapons when surrendering among the 49 and they were awarded monetary rewards based on the type of weapon as determined by the NUG Ministry of Defence. It is said that a total of 17 weapons and ammunition were surrendered.
The Ministry of Defence also urged the junta forces who wish to stand on the side of the people as well as those who were forcibly conscripted to quickly contact the Telegram channel of People’s Embrace (@MyanmarPeople) or the closet PDF, PDO and allied ethnic revolutionary organisations and join the people’s embrace.
