MYANMAR – The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) announced that the terrorist junta council has been murdering civilians since the military coup and a total of 5,941 people were killed between February 1, 2021 and November 11, 2024.
According to data recorded by AAPP, a total of 27,653 people were detained during the same period with 21,099 people still in detention while 9,499 of them were sentenced to prison.
In addition, it is said that 107 people passed away from the abuses suffered inside the prisons, either in prison or almost immediately after their release.
These figures are based on the data recorded by AAPP who added that the actual figure on the ground could be much higher and that they will update the figures as they collect more data.
AAPP requested those with information about the arrest, detention and prosecution of anyone from leaders of civilian organisations, civilians, journalists and CDM employees, as well as the information about those who fell during the Spring Revolution.
