MYANMAR – National Unity Government’s Union Minister U Tin Lin Aung informed that the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology created a VPN with the aim of supporting the revolution.
It was announced by the Union Minister Mr. Htin Lin Aung that ” The junta council government, which oppresses the public in various ways, has cut off the freedom of the press and the use of the Internet. VPNs have been blocked so that people using social networking sites using the VPN method cannot use them. But to show how technology is unstoppable and to be a key enabler of the revolution, our IT department was able to create a VPN.”
At present, the VPN has already been tested by the northern forces and has successfully overcome the obstacles.
“The forces of the Northern area have tested and successfully overcome the obstacles and are now able to do the works of the NUG government without slowing down. In the first trial period, 1,000 people have already started using it. No matter which service provider you use, you have been able to successfully overcome it. It is also intended to be used by the public along with the revolutionary forces.” Union Minister Mr. Htin Lin Aung said.
In addition to VPN, other projects created by the IT department can be accessed at https://smartgov.nugmyanmar.org/products.
