KACHIN STATE – Junta police and Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA) forces were shot at a KTV restaurant in Mohnyin Township, killing eight and a revolutionary soldier who took part in the shooting also died.
A resident reported that the revolutionary forces attacked around ten junta and SNA forces in a KTV room at the restaurant in the express bus terminal on November 12 afternoon.
“Six were killed. Two more died at the hospital. Everyone in the room besides the dead was injured,* said the Mohnyin resident. The resident added that the incident took place in the KTV room at Htantapin Village in Mohnyin.
Among the dead were SNA forces, a junta police officer involved in illegal logging and several timber merchants. The wife of the dead police officer was also a police and his funeral was reportedly held without anyone attending.
Kachin news sites reported that nine were killed and two were injured in the attack.
Although it was reported that the attack was carried out by revolutionary forces, it is not known which teams carried out the attack. It is also said that a revolutionary soldier was killed in the exchange of fire. Hopin Township PDF has also not made any announcement regarding the attack.
