SAGAING DIVISION – There was a shooting at Yankin traffic lights in the center of Monywa and the ensuing junta gunfire results in a civilian casualty, according to residents.
Kaung Kin People’s Defence Force announced that they, together with Monywa Township People’s Security Force, attacked two junta police forces on sentry duty at Kyaukkar Road in Yankin Ward, Monywa around 7:30 a.m. on November 14 and successfully confiscated a weapon.
“A motorcycle was fallen on the road. Two cars were blocking the area. We had to run into the side streets out of fear,” said a Monywa resident.
Some residents shared that the junta forces at the monastery near Yankin traffic lights were attacked with a hand grenade.
Another resident of Monywa said that a vendor near the site of the shooting was injured but is in a stable condition.
Junta forces frequently opened fire recklessly in Monywa in the past, causing multiple civilian casualties.
Junta forces were recently attacked at the toll gate at the entrance to Monywa on November 3 morning and the junta side suffered damages.
