MAGWAY DIVISION – Local sources reported that five civilians were injured after the terrorist junta forces shelled three villages in Gangaw Township.
Around 3 p.m. on November 16, the terrorist junta soldiers from infantry 50 in Gangaw fired ten rounds of heavy artillery towards the villages of Seindu, Zahaw and Ywarsi.
Some of those shells exploded in Zahaw Village and injured five civilians.
“Three men and two women were hit. Among the five, one woman is in critical condition. In Seindu Village, the shells landed right on top of a house but luckily, no one was inside. If there were people inside, they’d have died. Seindu, Larpot and Ywarsi Villages are most frequently affected by junta shelling. It’s really sad. They also don’t want to stay there but have no choice as their works are nearby. They just flee for a bit then return,” said a local resident.
The terrorist junta forces, no longer having territory control outside Gangaw Town, frequently fire artillery shells into the villages around the town. Due to that, residents of villages in a 5 mile radius around the town are displaced, fleeing into the woods.
A similar helping by junta infantry 50 in Gangaw on October 16 injured a woman from Zahaw Village. The artillery shelling from Pyu Saw Htee bases in northern Gangaw Township on October 25 also killed one man and injured two people, a man and a woman, according to local reports.
