MAGWAY DIVISION – More than 80 baskets were yielded from the raining season paddy plantation of the People’s Democratic Army – PDA, which is based in Pauk township, Pakokku district, Magway division.
In order to reduce the burden on the people and to save food and expenses for the regiment, “Ayermin” rice was planted on 2 acres of land that the people rented for free, on July 30th of this year, and harvesting began on November 16th.
The outcome of more than 80 baskets of rice is in line with the normal yield of that region, and there was no decrease in yield, said Comrade Tiger, deputy in charge of public information of PDA.
He continued to say that if we grind that 80 baskets of rice grown by the PDA troops, we can get more than 40 to 50 baskets of white rice, which is sufficient for the food of the troops and the people will not be burdened because the supply is less.
The female soldier, Panda Lay, said that the PDA forces worked cultivation with the guidance of local farmers, preparation of soil, Irrigation, supplement of Fertilizer, on harvesting and threshing rice.
He said that from the time the rice was planted in the regiment’s farm until harvesting and threshing, both male and female comrades worked together on the farm.
From February 2025, the planting of spring rice will be expanded to 5 acres.
