MANDALAY DIVISION – The junta council’s light battalion 701 of Madaya Township led by Major Kyaw Zaya was intercepted and attacked, resulted killing 12 junta soldiers and 9 weapons were seized, the No(1) military region announced.
The mentioned terrorist battalion of more than 70 soldiers in strength, came from junta council’s engineer battalion on the morning of November 17 was being attacked by revolutionary forces, and 12 junta troops were reportedly killed.
In addition, 9 weapons including MA-15, MA-10(RPG), 8 RPG rockets, 5 pieces of 60mm grenades, 5 inaga grenades, 351 bullets (5.56mm), 248 G-3 bullets, 7 magazines, equipment and uniforms etc, were confiscated. The military council forces were reported to have entered through Thaphan Daunt village in Madaya Township.
After the battle, the terrorist army bombarded with jet fighters and Mi-35. The attack towards terrorist soldiers was carried out under the command of the Pyin Oo Lwin District Commander and in collaboration with the Battalion 510, Mandalay District People’s Defence Organization (PDO), Maha Aung Myay Township/Chan Mya Thar Si Township/Madaya Township PDO.
