MON STATE – An official from Tathon Urban Guerrilla Force reported that they attacked a junta vehicle guarding a junta school bus in Tathon Township from a close range and three junta forces were killed in the attack.
At 9:05 a.m. on November 22, joint forces from KNLA Battalion 2, Company 3, Tathon Urban Guerrilla Force and HRS attacked the junta security vehicle with five junta forces on board in front of the Denko gas station in Theinseik Ward, Thuwanna Watti Town, Tathon Township.
An exchange of fire ensued following the attack and the junta vehicle is reported to have driven away. The driver reportedly died, shot in the chest and legs while other injured junta forces were sent to Tathon Hospital first then to Mawlamyaing Hospital as the injuries were serious where two more junta forces died.
“The students would have been harmed if we attacked during their journey to the school so we carried out the attack on their way back after the children were delivered to school. The driver, Sergeant Aung Zaw, was killed in the attack and two more died as well,” explained the official from Tathon Urban Guerrilla Force.
Two members of the revolutionary forces were injured by the return fire from junta forces and a car belonging to HRS was also damaged by junta gunfire.
