SAGAING DIVISION – A resident monk of Chaung U reported that the junta council troops were putting up signs and notices asking the PDF forces to surrender in Chaung U Township.
It is said that junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militants put up those signs in Khinmon Village of Chaung U Township and Monyway Village on Monywa Township on November 24 and the notices asked the PDF forces to contact the Mya Pale junta base at Khinmon Village to surrender.
“The notices were posted in Monyway Village, Monywa Township yesterday morning (November 24) and in Khinmon Village, Chaung U Township that afternoon. They were put up near their stations. Khinmon Village’s Mya Pale base that they asked to contact is stationed by junta and Pyu Saw Htee forces. It is at Khinmon Village on the Monywa-Mandalay Road,” said the monk.
A leader of a local defence force based in Monywa commented that the junta council putting up those notices after the revolution entered the fourth year is showing the junta regime’s weakened territory control and aims to disrupt the unity of the revolutionary forces.
“The revolution has entered its fourth year and the people’s hatred for junta dogs (junta forces) have heightened. So, they themselves now understand that they are unable to control territory. That’s one thing. Another thing is those signs might invite the PDF members in poor living conditions to surrender. They probably intend to disrupt the bond between the )DF forces as well. That’s the second point,” said the local defence force leader.
Sagaing Division is under heavy control of revolutionary forces while the junta council only has sporadic control in cities.
