SAGAING DIVISION- According to those close to the village, two junta affiliates, the administrator father and son, were arrested by the Kalay Region Defense Forces at Nhawnyaungpin Village under the military council control, near Kalay Town.
On December 12, the 50-year-old Junta-appointed administrator of Nhawnyaungpin Village, Mr. Maung Ri, and his son ( 20 years old) were reportedly arrested by Kalay PDF while they were in the forest to herd cows.
“They got arrested while herding the cattle. The junta soldiers were at the scene, and so are the Pyu members of Taung U region. It was around 9 a.m.,” reported the local.
The revolutionary forces of Kalay Township have confirmed that the administrator and his son have been arrested, but they have not yet responded to the subsequent situation.
After the arrest of the village administrator and his son, the military council temporarily closed the entrance and exit checkpoint of the village, soldiers from Kaly town arrived in the village and opened fire towards the south of the township with heavy weapons.
Last November 15, around 8:00 p.m., Mr. Than Htay, the administrator of Aung Thissar Ward was stabbed to death at a pub in his neighborhood.
