TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Two terrorist junta soldiers robbed a small store in Htanpinkone Village, Zawae Village Tract, Tanintharyi Township and took off with two mobile phones, 300,000 Kyats in cash and several snacks and drinks, reported an official from Tanintharyi Township PDO Zone 5, Tawbonegyi Team.
It is reported that two junta soldiers from Zawae Village based junta light infantry 556 robbed the shop at Htanpinkone Village around 11 p.m. on December 14 at gunpoint.
“One of them first came shopping on credit. They made plans for the robbery after that. They robbed at gunpoint but no one was harmed. We also haven’t heard anyone reporting the robbery. The people are in fear as well,” said the official from Tawbonegyi Team.
Htanpinkone Village is only around six furlongs from junta light infantry 556 in Zawae Village and is frequented by junta patrols. Junta light infantry 556 was first established in 1993 and this was aid to be the first robbery committed in the area.
“This is the first time that the junta forces committed robbery (here). It was done by junta soldiers in civilian clothes,” continued the official from Tawbonegyi Team.
Revolutionary forces and junta forces are in a face off in Tanintharyi Township and the junta council has been raiding the villages in the township.
