SAGAING DIVISION – The mine sweeping forces of the terrorist junta council that came out of Chaung U Town were attacked and two junta forces were killed after which their bodies were taken to the general administration office, according to an official from BLDF Anyar Mine Team.
Revolutionary forces attacked the junta troops on the Monywa-Mandalay Road around 7 p.m. on December 17, killing two on the spot and it is expected that several were injured.
The two junta soldiers killed along with the injured junta forces were reportedly taken to the Chaung U General Administration Office, a base of the junta forces.
“We attacked them on the Monywa-Chaung U Road. There were around seven of them. They were split up. The dead and the injured were carried back to the general administration office. They fired back recklessly. It didn’t last long. We can only confirm the death count. We are unclear how many were injured,” said the official from Anyar Mine Team.
The attack was carried out by soldiers of the Anyar Mine Team, a company of BLDF (Bamar Liberation Democratic Front), Chaung U People’s Defence Organisation. It is said that the revolutionary forces were able to return unharmed even though there was reckless gunfire by junta forces.
