BAGO DIVISION – An official from Kiku Column reported that 12 junta soldiers were killed during the two days of battle at Padaukkone Village on the eastern bank of Sittaung River in Yedashe Township.
Around 3 p.m. on December 12, about 100 junta forces stationed at Ywathit Village on the eastern bank of Sittaung River launched an offensive to Padaukkone Village but were intercepted by revolutionary forces lying in waiting for them. The revolutionary forces gained the initiative during said battle, dealing major damages to the junta forces and forced them into retreating.
Junta forces tried to advance towards Padaukkone Village again later that day around 6 p.m. and clashed against the revolutionary forces. The fighting lasted around two hours and as the junta forces remained near Padaukkone Village that night, the revolutionary forces continued to bombard them almost the entire night.
Then at around 3 a.m. on December 13, the junta forces tried to advance again and were forced into retreat again after getting attacked by revolutionary forces. And yet they advanced again at around 3 p.m. and suffered heavy damages after triggering the explosives prepared by the revolutionary forces and finally retreated back towards Ywathit Village.
It is said that 12 junta soldiers were killed and around six were injured during those two days of battle while the revolutionary forces are unharmed.
Due to the terrorist junta forces advancing, civilians from Padaukkone Village and nearby villages had to flee and as the junta forces and the revolutionary forces are still locked in a stalemate, civilians are advised to remain vigilant and pay attention to security.
The attacks were carried out by the joint efforts of Sittaung Basin Yedashe Joint Operation Team, Nay Pyi Taw PDF Column Battalion 901, Battalion 3502, Kiku Column and Royal Thunder Column, and Battalion 3501, Pwahni Column.
