MANDALAY DIVISION- In Taungthar Township, a policeman from the 5th Yangon Police Battalion defected with weapons and ammunition and was awarded 5 million kyats, announced Thaungthar People’s Defense Force.
An official from the Taungthar PDF stated that a policeman from Yangon Police Battalion 5 (Mhawbi) defected to PDF along with a G-3 rifle and 221 bullets and was reportedly awarded 5 million kyats.
The remaining soldiers under the junta regime who torture and use violence against people should defect to the Taungthar Township People Defense Force, urged the official of Taungthar PDF.
