YANGON DIVISION – Residents of Yangon said that a white Toyota Caldena car driven by a couple returning from a nightclub rammed into people waiting in line for a bus at the Sinmin Market bus stop, Ahlone township, killing 4 people and seriously injuring 3 others, on August 13th, at 6:33 in the morning.
“It is known that the couple driving the car is a couple of children of crony. After drinking all night at the nightclub, hitting people waiting in the bus stand on their way back. At Ahlone township Sinmin Market bus stop, 7 people collided, 4 died, 3 of others had broken arms and legs. It’s a very sad event. Caused by inhumane driving. There is no accountability. They even hit a parked pickup truck and knocked it over. They are reckless,” a local resident said.
It is known that the driver has been arrested by the relevant Ahlone township police station, but the details of the situation are not known. The death of the 4 deceased has completed their funeral. However, there is no responsibility or paying any compensation to the victims and those affected.
