SAGAING DIVISION- Residents stated that a farmer in his sixties was arrested by military council soldiers at around 6 a.m. on August 22, in Kantbalu Township
The farmer got arrested when about 200 Military Council soldiers from the Infantry Battalion-361 and Pyu Saw Htee members leaving Kyung Hla Village, in a convoy, reached to Chap Gyi Village Camp.
A man from Inn-ma village said, “He was arrested when harvesting seedlings. He was getting seedlings for the rice farmers.”
The detainee was 66-year-old Mr. Myint Shwe from Inn-ma village. He was taken hostage by the military council soldiers along with the convoy as a guide, the informer stated.
At present, the junta convoy detaining Mr. Myint Shwe has reached Shan Gone Village, in the north of Inn-ma Village, the informer added.
The locals from the villages along junta’s marching column (such as Inn-ma, Shan Kone, Phalarya, Pint-Thar, Chaung-Char, Zeekone, Inn-Ngote-To) were forced to flee.
On August 11, three women and a man from Inma village were reportedly arrested by Junta troops on but the women were released on the later day, according to the locals.
