MAGWAY DIVISION- A revolutionary news source from Myaing PDF told the media that a guard soldier was killed and a weapon and ammunition were seized when resistance forces opened fire at the security guards in front of the military-run Myanmar Economic Bank in Pakokku Township.
On August 30th, at around 11:35 a.m., the soldiers, on the mini Oway (trishaw) parking in front of the (Military-controlled) Myanmar Economic Bank in the west of the Independence Park and Pakokku Myoma Market, were shot three times with a revolver gun. A soldier was reportedly shot twice in the temple and once in the neck and died on the spot. While shooting at the soldier, three traffic policemen with him ran into the bank.
A soldier from the Infantry Battalion 253 was reportedly killed and an MA-3 rifle and 24 rounds of 5.56 ammunition were seized. It is learned that only the bike of a revolutionary member was lost (left at the scene), and the others were able to retreat unharmed.
The attack was launched by Myaing PDF Battalion-3 Division 4 and the DLP shot and cleared a Military Council troops. After the attack, Junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members were reportedly arresting the passersby, so the public was urged to be cautious while traveling. Pakokku (Township) Police Station is only about 100 meters away from the Myanmar Economic Bank where the shooting took place.
