SAGAING DIVISION – No.1 Military Region officially reported that a total of 18 terrorist junta forces were killed, 22 weapons and many kinds of ammunition, and over 340 lakhs kyats were seized, and four Revolutionary Comrades have sacrificed their lives during Tabayin Town Capturing Battle.
On August 18, at around 4:00 a.m., the allied Revolutionary Forces captured Tabayin Town in Shwebo District. The Revolutionary Forces started its offensive on Tabayin Town, at around 8:30 a.m., on August 15, and they captured the town, after three days of fighting.
The Revolutionary Forces attacked and seized the police station, general administration office, staff housing, Shwe Zar Li pagoda, audit office, Zwe restaurant and high school, where junta Captain Aung Hein Oo led Light Infantry Battalion 704 and 708, and pro-junta Pyu Saw Htee thugs, numbering around 79, were based. Moreover, the Revolutionary Forces successfully intercepted and cut-off the junta reinforcement column of around 60 troops from Ye U based Infantry Battalion – 89.
During the Tabayin Town Capturing Battle, a total of 18 terrorist junta forces were killed and 10 others were injured. Some of the junta soldiers ran away and two Pyu Saw Htee militants surrendered while 40 non-CDM personnel, 20 prisoners and 72 civilians were rescued. 22 weapons, about 4,900 bullets of various types, 57 grenades, 20 mines, eight cartridges and more than 340 lakhs kyats were confiscated. On the other hand, four Revolutionary Comrades have sacrificed their lives during the fights.
The terrorist junta army carried out airstrike attacks around the town at 12:00 p.m., on August 18, while the Revolutionary Forces were clearing the area after the town was captured. Moreover, the junta sent over 100 reinforcements with its military helicopter, and thus the Revolutionary Forces had to retreat from Tabayin Town.
Shwebo District Battalion 6, 9, 12, Shwebo District People’s Defence Organization, Tactic– 53, 96 Soldiers, Tabayin Local People’s Defence Force and many other Revolutionary Forces jointly carried out the Tabayin Town Capturing Battle under command of Shwebo District No. 1 Command Office.
