MYANMAR – It was reported that A total of 183 civilians were killed by junta’s airstrike and offensive attacks across the country in October, according to Nyan Lynn Thit Analytica.
The most violent clashes occurred in Rakhine State, Sagaing and Magway divisions in October, with a total of 521 clashes, and the Revolutionary Forces captured and controlled four towns. The number of clashes in Rakhine State increased by almost three times compared to September in October and recorded the highest. Sagaing Division had the second highest number of clashes. The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces completely captured Tsawlaw Town on October 2 and Pang War Town on October 18.
In Sagaing Region, the People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) captured Pinlebu Town on October 8, and Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and allied forces acquired Hsipaw Town on October 13. The atrocious junta army carried out targeted attacks on civilians during the fights. At least 268 civilians were killed and 498 injured in October due to various reasons. Of these, 137 civilians were killed and 317 injured by brutal junta’s targeted airstrikes. The second highest number of casualties was caused by the terrorist junta army’s incursions and killing, and 46 civilians were killed and at least four were injured.
In addition, 12 civilians were killed and 28 injured by unidentified armed forces. It was said that three people in Tanintharyi Division and one in Sagaing Division were killed by Revolutionary Forces. A total of 1,769 civilians were abducted by the terrorist army, 119 by the Revolutionary Forces, and two by unidentified armed forces in October.
In October, military operations and clashes took place in 125 townships, and 327 skirmishes occurred between the Revolutionary Forces and terrorist junta army. During the fights, the Revolutionary Forces captured a total of 42 junta’s battalions, camps, headquarters, strategic outposts, and police stations.
Moreover, at least 594 junta soldiers were killed, at least 340 were injured and 249 were captured in October. It was reported that 47 Revolutionary Comrades sacrificed their lives during the fights, while 29 others were injured. During the clashes, there were also civilian casualties, with 61 civilians killed and at least 36 injured.
