MYANMAR – It was reported that a total of 54 people sought protection under the Ministry of Defence of National Unity Government (NUG) and People’s Embrace in July.
The detailed figures of defectors from July 1 to 31 were reported as 26 with weapons and 28 unarmed, totalling 54. Among those, there were two majors, five captains, one lieutenant, four sergeants, one police sergeant, three corporals, one police corporal, one lance corporal, one police lance corporal, 20 privates and 15 police privates.
In addition, nine MA 1, three MA 2, two MA 3, one MA 4, two MA 5, three G3, one BA-63, one HK, 11 grenades, three Enaga bombs, 15 of 40 mm bombs, 3,871 different types of bullets and related equipment were obtained.
