RAKHINE STATE – According to one of the AA (Arakan Army) news sources, AA managed to capture the Border Guard Force (BGF)-Company 5, which is the last junta council camp in Maungdaw township, Rakhine state.
A news source in the front line mentioned that “we have captured the BGF-company 5. We can manage to control Maungdaw. A battle broke out as Athe rakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) came to rescue the officers who fled from BGF-Company 5. We have been blocked since the beginning. It has been taking so long since we blocked them gradually.”
AA hasn’t issued any official news about the capture of the BGF-company 5.
Two recorded videos were released on December 8 in which the junta council servants who were blocked by AA, were crying and asking for help. In which, they were talking that Thurein Tun, the brigadier general of the Operation Command Headquarters, had run away.
AA news sources mentioned that “it was known that a battle broke out between AA and ARSA as ARSA came to rescue the fled officers. But we don’t know who (the officers) ran away.”
At the moment, AA is blocking the Western Regional Command Headquarters in Ann Township. If AA could capture Maungdaw township, it managed to capture 13 townships.
