MYANMAR – During the military conflict, women are suffering sexual violence on top of various human rights violations by the terrorist junta forces, according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP).
The statement also mentioned that nearly 6,000 civilians and democracy activists were killed during the Spring Revolution by terrorist military dictators and minions.
Since the military coup on February 1, 2021, until November 4, 2024, 5,919 civilians and political activists were documented to have been killed by the terrorist military regime and its henchmen.
A total of 27,631 people were arrested during the coup, of which 21,081 are still in custody, and 9,487 have been sentenced to prison terms. It is also announced that the detained women are also subjected to various methods of sexual violence by terrorist junta forces.
In August 2024, junta soldiers raped some of the women who were arrested and locked up in Indaw Myoma Monastery, Sagaing Division, reported the survivors.
On October 26, In Pinlaung Town, Shan State, a 56-year-old woman was reportedly raped by the junta soldiers.
Moreover, the terrorist junta troops, blatantly committing war crimes, entered Kantbalu Township in Sagaing Division in the last week of October and burned down residential buildings and religious buildings that were not military targets. Those junta troops also arrested some civilians, as mentioned in the statement released by AAPP.
