MYANMAR – The All Burma Students Democratic Front (ABSDF) announced on its 36th anniversary that it will fight for a Federal Union that guarantees equality and self determination.
“The anti-military dictatorship forces must fight together practically while setting common agreements in order to reach the goal of building a new federal union that guarantees democracy, equality and self determination,” said Bo. Than Khae, the Chairman of ABSDF.
ABSDF announced on its 36th anniversary that it will actively cooperate in its roles for the emergence of the new federal democratic union along with the people.
ABSDF also mentioned that it must value the historical record of how lives were sacrificed to uphold its four principles: to free the entire oppressed public from the military dictatorship, democracy and human rights, regional peace and the forming of a Federal Union.
A total of 826 members of the ABSDF have fallen and 435 were injured throughout the revolution journey.
The National Unity Government and its Ministry of Defence as well as the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, the Democratic Party for a New Society and other Spring Revolution forces also sent congratulatory messages to the 36th anniversary of the ABSDF.
ABSDF was formed on November 1, 1988, the same year as the 8888 uprising.
