MAGWAY DIVISION – Comrade Pyae Phyoe Kyaw, the person responsible for news and information at ABSDF-Column 3, reported that they have been growing rice, sesame, and various kinds of beans at battalion 12 of ABSDF-Column and the Chindwin base battalion to support their food needs. They cultivated 3 acres of rice, 7 acres of beans and sesame, totaling 10 acres in the Chindwin region of Sagaing Division and the Yaw region of Magway Division.
Comrade Pyae Phyoe Kyaw stated that the primary objective behind growing these crops was to secure food supplies, considering that civilians were facing difficulties due to the junta coup. The ABSDF-Column intended to share some of the crops with civilians as well.
He also mentioned that the revolutionary forces received less support from civilians due to the higher commodity prices, and growing their own agricultural supplies would help fund their army operations and other necessities. The cultivation process received support from many female comrades, including civilians.
In the ABSDF Column-3’s battalion 12 at the Yaw region, they recently harvested 2 acres of peanuts during the third week of May. The harvest yielded 100 baskets of peanuts, which were then used to produce peanut oil.
