MYANMAR – Acting President Duwa Lashi La of the National Unity Government stated that the terrorist junta council group led by dictator Min Aung Hlaing has been focusing on bombing civilians instead of rescuing the people affected by the flood.
The Acting President addressed the troubles and hardships faced by the people due to the nationwide flood in his speech for the Democracy Day on September 15.
He mentioned that there are floods in various parts of Mandalay Division, Shan State, Bago Division, Karenni State, Karen State and Rakhine State across the country due to Typhoon Yagi.
“In our country, due to the greed of the power-crazed military dictatorship, the people have to suffer from the conflicts and natural disasters more than other countries. It can be seen that Min Aung Hlaing and the junta group are focusing on bombing the civilians instead of rescuing the people affected by the flood. They lack humanity and are only crazed about maintaining their power and have no empathy for the hardships of the people,” said the Acting President.
The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced on September 14 that the terrorist junta council attacked the IDP camps and civilian zones including the towns under the control of TNLA using highly destructive bombs while the entire country is suffering from the flood.
Mr. Duwa Lashi La also mentioned in his speech that military dictatorship is a barrier to the people’s rights to democracy and freedom, and the opinions and representation of the people will be ignored as long as military dictatorship is in place.
“At the present situation, military dictatorship is the enemy and biggest barrier to the people’s rights to democracy and democratic freedom. That’s why in working to achieve full democracy, we are all prioritising the eradication of military dictatorship,” continued the Acting President, adding that he believes it is the first step to implementing the broadest benefits of the people.
