YANGON DIVISION – An anti-junta movement was held in Yangon on July 31 to commemorate the 53rd anniversary of the hunger strike battle of the political prisoners in the Coco Islands.
The movement was jointly led by the ABFSU (All Burma Federation of Students’ Unions), New Society Youths, Yangon Eastern University Students’ Union, and Yangon Revolution Force. They hung the banner, “May all the enemies be scared weak and may all the people feel energised,” to protest against the military dictatorship and to encourage the people on the 53rd anniversary of the Coco Islands hunger strike battle, the Coco Islands heroes’ day.
