RAKHINE STATE – Arakan Army reportedly has rescued nearly 26,000 civilians, including Muslims, who were arrested as human shields in Maungdaw Town, Rakhine State.
Those civilians are innocent civilians abducted as human shields by terrorist junta forces and Muslim terrorist armed forces, AA announced on August 29.
Innocent civilians were evacuated during the fighting, and AA was providing safe places and health care services.
ULA/AA troops reportedly provided health care services to 22 people of Kan Pyin Thar Si (Rakhine) Village, 148 people of Har Bi (Muslim) and 21 people of Hla Po Khao refugee camp in Maungdaw Township, on August 29.
The Maungdaw Town capturing battle was intense and there were civilians, including Muslims, who were abducted as human shields and trapped in the town.
AA said that the Maungdaw Town capturing battle was started on August 4, and the terrorist junta defended together with Muslim terrorist armed forces. But, after the defenses were breached, the junta army attacked using chemical gas bombs on August 28.
It was reported that the terrorist junta army has made a step-by-step defense in residential wards to protect No. 5 Border Police sub-division, garrison and the last remaining camp, next to the town, by collaborating with Muslim terrorist armed forces, Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), Arakan Rohingya Army (ARA) and Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO).
