MANDALAY DIVISION – An official from TTA – People’s Defence Force reported that the terrorist junta forces conducting searches at a checkpoint in Taungtha Township were attacked and three junta forces were killed.
Around 8:00 a.m. on October 31, about 15 junta police forces came out of Yonesingyi Police Station in Taungtha Township set up a checkpoint near the police station on the Meikhtila-Taungtha Road and disturbed the passing civilians when they were attacked by revolutionary forces.
During the attack, one junta police was killed on the spot and another died at the hospital from serious injuries. In addition, Mg Myint, a police informant, also reportedly died from junta gunfire during the exchange of fire.
“It was around 8:20 a.m., about 1,000 meters away from Yonesingyi Police Station, the regional junta base on the Meikhtila-Taungtha Road. They set up a checkpoint and were searching and extorting civilians when we attacked in a guerrilla style. The attack barely lasted five minutes. We saw one of them fall to the ground there. Another one died at the hospital. Mg Myint, an informer who stopped in front of the checkpoint and alerted the junta forces of our arrival was killed by junta gunfire. We were not able to pick up any weapon. Out of 15, only around three were on the road. The rest were on the building. So, we attacked those three and fell back,” said the official from TTA – People’s Defence Force.
The attack, carried out as part of the Myingyan District Special Operation (MDSO), was a joint operation between Taungtha Township PDF, Nay Pyi Taw Battalion 801, Meikhtila PDO, Singaing PDO, Taungtha PLF, Kyaukpadaung PDO and Nyaung U District Battalion 1.
In addition, the official from TTA – People’s Defence Force urged the people to take part in the “Myingyan Khayine Htoesit Myaing” Campaign to accelerate the MDSO.
