SAGAING DIVISION – On the morning of October 6, there was a battle between the People’s Defense Forces and the Military Council near the 309 Light Infantry Battalion of the Military Council in Kathar Township.
A member of the People’s Defense Force in Kathar said that the fighting broke out because of Light Infantry (309) launched offensive, which lasted up to an hour, and the situation of casualties is still under investigation.
The site of the battle was near Light Infantry 309 and between the village of Aung Bon Village and the Tada Oo Village on the Indaw- Kathar Road. At about 11:00 a.m., the fighting began, and at about noon, the military council withdrew.
The last time battle broke out in Kathar was in June. A fierce battle broke out near the village of Wel Gyi Village between Kathar and Tigyaing on June 13. Five members of the Military Council were killed, and three civilians were injured by the military council’s airstrikes.
The military council’s casualties are unknown in the October 6 battle. The People’s Defense Force members were unharmed.
