SHAN-KARENNI STATES – There has been fierce battle between revolutionary forces in Southern Shan State against junta army and its allied Pa-O National Army (PNO/PNA) at the villages in Pinlaung Township such as Bamauk, Namhparmu, Nawngwoe, Pangson villages. Some people close to the battle reported that the Pa-O militias (PNO/PNA) are facing many casualties.
At Shan-Karen border, the PNO, led by Deputy Chief of Staff Ne Win Tun, is jointly attacking with a force of about 500 in strength together with the junta army. A person close to PNO said that on October 8, a dead body of a PNO member was received at Aung Pan Hospital and four others were also came with severe injuries, and one had his hand amputated.
“Ne Win Tun is criticizing the junta army’s heavy weapons shelling and airstrikes as ineffective and threatening that he and his men will lead in launching an offensive,” he added.
The source said that the weapons given to the PNO by the military council are often jammed when firing and they are slandering the military council because there are too many casualties.
There are also casualties in the revolutionary forces, and each comrade from the Battalion 1008 – SSRY and Battalion 1009- IPDF also fall in honor in the Nawngwoe Battle in the first week of October.
The terrorist junta council and PNO joint forces took advantage of the flooding in Shan State in September and launching attacks including bombing to destroy bridges.
A local resident reported that the atrocious army dropped 4 bombs and destroyed Punchaung bridge connecting Hsihseng and Mawkmai townships on the morning of September 27.
Intense battles going on since the mid of September as the fascist army and junta-backed PNO forces are advancing the border of Shan-Karen states with airstrikes and artillery support in large numbers.
