MYANMAR – After the military coup by the terrorist army, Myanmar’s need for humanitarian aid is increasing every year.
After the coup, the number of Burmese people in need of humanitarian aid is increasing yearly, from 2.1 million in 2021 to almost 20 million by 2025, according to UNOCHA.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) announced on December 16th that there are nearly 20 million people in Burma in need of humanitarian assistance in 2025, and they need more than 1 billion US dollars.
UNOCHA said it expects to spend $1 billion on 5.5 million people in need of emergency assistance. At present, it is reported that only more than 300 million dollars of funds have been received for Burmese people.
There are 5 and a half million people living during the crisis in Myanmar, and UNOCHA has requested that assistance be provided so that the social life of these people can survive. UNOC has announced that the donations will ensure food security, education, health, and shelter.
According to UNOCHA, there are 3.5 million people displaced by the conflict in Myanmar and more than 15 million people in need of food.
In addition, it is reported that more than one million people lack shelter and access to clean drinking water.
