MYANMAR: It was reported that Burmese civil society organizations and revolutionary groups have started a campaign to pressure the European airline giant company named Airbus, which has invested in the Chinese airline AVIC and supplying and selling fighter jets to the junta council.
Campaign leaders said that as the military council’s airstrikes targeting solely on civilians mainly use combat aircraft produced by the Chinese AVIC company and its subsidiaries, they are calling on the Airbus company to “immediately stop supporting the military council by AVIC and, if it does not stop, to withdraw the investment in AVIC”.
The Blood Money Campaign, one of the groups leading the campaign, raised awareness to pressure Airbus company to AVIC company to stop supporting the military air force.
The Justice For Myanmar group has also persistently requested Airbus to immediately stop all business dealings with the Myanmar military group or withdraw all investments from AVIC.
