CHIN STATE – Chin Coalition of the Chinland Council made up of Chin National Army (CNA) and Chinland Defence Force (CDF) captured one of the junta council’s temporary camps in Thantlang on September 17 evening, said a Chin news source.
The Chinland Council coalition forces, in preparation to capture Thantlang, captured several junta outposts between Hakha and Thantlang in July third week and captured the junta army base in Thantlang during early August. The junta troops that fled from that base have been stationed inside several buildings in Thantlang with the junta council airdropping them rations.
“There are junta forces stationed at the buildings in Thantlang. Out of four camps, one was captured today (September 17). Chinland Council coalition forces captured the outpost of junta forces at Laivila,” said the Chin news source, quoting a CNA official.
It is said that the three remaining junta camps are the NLD office, police station and CB Bank.
The junta camp captured on September was previously Laivila Inn which the junta council further reinforced for defense.
“It is said that some (junta forces) ran away. Three junta police surrendered just the day before the camp was captured, bringing weapons. That is what we heard,” continued the source.
The Chinland Council coalition forces have so far captured at least nine junta camps and temporary stations since July 22 when they launched the military operation.
