CHIN STATE – Chin Brotherhood announced that they captured around 120 junta forces that ran away during the battles in Matupi with weapons and are continuing to chase after the rogue junta forces.
Chin Brotherhood and allied forces attacked junta light infantry 304, infantry 140 and Matupi Strategic Base in Matupi as part of a joint operation and completely captured those bases on June 29.
On July 17, the first batch of around 120 junta soldiers, military family members and junta staff that ran away during the battles were captured with weapons, ammunition and military equipment.
Then on July 25, a second batch of rogue junta forces were captured after a 2 hour long clash against a column of junta forces and military family members and it is said that the remaining junta rogue forces are being chased and eliminated.
It is informed that the captured junta forces are being detained according to the POW regulations but that some among them reportedly died from starvation, insufficient medicine and severe wounds received during the fighting.
