CHIN STATE – Zo Re-Unification Organisation (ZORO) announced that an agreement has been achieved for Chin resistance forces to not resort to fighting when disagreements arise.
Under the lead of ZORO, Chinland Government, Chin National Front (CNF), Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC)/ Chin Brotherhood (CB) were said to have met and have a discussion at Aizawl, Mizoram State, India.
Five items were initially agreed at the meeting it is said that the resistance forces agreed that the Chin-Kuki-Mizo ethnic groups are descendants of the same ethnic group sharing the same culture and traditions.
In addition, the resistance forces are saddened by the disagreement between the Chin people during the period of revolution for the country and the people and agrees to avoid similar disagreements in the future and to not resort to fighting when disagreements arise between Chin armed forces.
They also agreed to form a peace committee and for leaders of the organisation to meet and discuss as necessary in order to establish peace. The meeting was attended by representatives lead by ZORO Vice Chair Pu Lal Mon Pwi Yar Pon The, Chinland Government Prime Minister Pu Pa Thang, CNF Vice Chair Pu Thang Nin Ki, Salai Lan Lwal from ICNCC, and Paw Sila and Salai Peter Thang from Chin Brotherhood.
Since 2022, there have been visible cracks in the relationships between Chin organisations and it escalated to armed confrontations in 2024. Chin people and other ethnic groups on social media have welcomed the resolution from this meeting to not resort to armed confrontation.
